Feature film Shanghai is a love story. The main protagonists are members of the gipsy gamily Mirga. The story revolves around four generations and is narated by Lutvija Belmondo Mirga. He is also the center figure of the story, a gipsy king, who decides to build his own village. he names the village Shanghai. He thrives on smuggling and is ever more important in his community. Local police and polititians allow him to rise above the law. When Yugoslavia separates the contraband becomes weapons. A successful business becomes a threat to his family. He is faced with a dillema: secure the family or sacrifice personal happiness for business ambition.

Shanghai is a story of eternal longing for happiness, family ties, where tears are mixed with laughter. The movie is set in time of Yugislavian demise, where many forgot that the beauty is hidden in tiny details.
